Haflinger Highlights

At our first rated dressage show of the 2005 season, Avanti and All-Tell delivered exceptional performances in their classes.  We were the only Haflingers at this USDF Region 2 rated dressage show — Dressage at Eden Park Spring Classic I and II in Sunbury, Ohio — competing against warmbloods and many other well-trained and well-ridden breeds.

Avanti, ridden by Diana Charles, entered 5 Training Level tests, winning first place in 3 of the tests and second place in the other 2.  He was judged by 3 different judges in the course of the 3-day show, earning scores from 61.364% to 67.308%.  He walked away with the High Point Grand Championship for Training Level and is already qualified (with 2 rides scored over 65% under 2 different judges) for the USDF Region 2 Regional Championships.

Avanti’s fabulous gaits and willing temperament impressed the judges as well as the on-lookers.  Go Avanti!

The other big success story from this show was All-Tell , one of our 3-year-old geldings who has been under saddle for only about 4 months.  Stephanie Charles rode All-Tell in Intro Level classes at this show and also turned in amazing performances.

All-Tell rode 6 tests under 3 different judges over 3 days.  He earned 5 first place ribbons and 1 third place ribbon for his effort.  All-Tell also won High Point Grand Champion at Intro Level for his unwavering, winning performance.

We were very proud of both of our boys — and they soundly proved that Haflingers can compete in the ‘big time’ and win the big prizes!!
