Until we purchased it in 1999, our farm had been in the same family since the late 1800’s. The old farmhouse, built around 1890 was small and in desperate need of major renovation. A small stock barn and the tobacco barn were succumbing to years of hard use and weather. The fields were tall with weeds and furrowed from years of crop farming. A few years and a lot of T.L.C. later, Deer Haven Farm is a spiffy little horse farm — sporting a beautiful farmhouse, a nice 5-stall training barn, a 13-stall foaling barn, 80 acres of manicured pasture surrounded by the requisite 4-board horse fence and a bunch of very happy Haflingers.
