1982—2006

 

‘Statch’ was about 20 years old when we welcomed her to Deer Haven in 2002 for a cushy retirement.   We’ve been told she was a champion show Saddlebred in her day.  She was 16 hands tall —  very elegant and refined.

 

She came as one of a pair of retired Saddlebred mares —  Tender , her constant companion, was faithfully by her side.

 

We lost Statch from natural causes on December 7, 2006.  Her passing was very peaceful and she was surrounded by the people she had grown to love and who loved her so, so deeply.

 

She will be forever remembered and her spirit cherished.  Statuesque was a special equine gift that every human would be blessed to receive.
