Santa Monica is full sister to Aspen, one of our developing dressage prospects. Monica will have no trouble mastering the levels in dressage. She’s a level-headed, natural athlete. We will expect her to mature at +/- 14.2 h.
Monica has been sold to Karen Barnard as a show and lesson horse. Congratulations to both Monica and Karen!
Update 2/20/11: Karen Barnard’s barn and riders shine every show season — and in Santa Monica’s 2nd year on Karen’s team, she is holding up her end of the deal, going home as Reserve Champion! Congratulations to Monica and her human trainers/riders on a great year.
Here’s an update from Karen about Monica’s first show season — she started mid-season in the Thunder Horse Show Series in Virginia. “For the season, at only 2 years old, in Halter Mares she took Reserve Champion; Halter Two and Under she took Reserve Champion and in Model Hunter she took Third overall. Not bad for her first year in the ring with all those big guys! She definitely held her own.” Congratulations to Karen, Alicia and Monica on great first season!
