Born at 11:00 p.m. on January 20, 2007, Brooklyn is a classy, down-to-earth, feminine young filly. She was positively evaluated by Thomas Poulin, world-renowned dressage trainer and judge for her potential as a dressage mount. Both of her parents are dressage champions so it is no surprise that her willowy height and tremendous athleticism will rival any warmblood's movement in the ring. She is a tall, bold, fun-loving girl that enjoys attention. Brooklyn is the ½ sister to our mare, Bella Breeze, rated Silver at the 2006 AHR Classifications.
Brooklyn began her career early when, as a foal, she worked with young Pony Clubbers at the five-day 2007 U.S. Pony Club National Finals to help improve their foal handling abilities. Brooklyn has been long-lined and bitted. She loads, bathes, leads, willingly picks up her feet for the farrier. She will be started under saddle in 2010 – with her easy-going attitude we expect it to be a no-brainer for her!
Her dam, Bailey, was sired by Nobleman, a National Grand Champion Stallion, now living Holland, who had a tremendous impact on the Haflinger breed in North America. Bailey's dam, Biery, is a daughter of Amadeus, World Grand Champion Stallion, now standing in Austria. Bailey TOF has just completed a championship year at Training Level dressage and was awarded High Point Champion for 2008 by the Kentucky Dressage Association. She will be moving up the levels this show season.
Her sire, Avanti, is an elegant National Grand Champion Stallion, Silver-rated with huge, suspended movement (scored '9' in Overall Movement on his stallion inspection). He has more than one dressage championship under his belt and truly enjoys competing and capturing the spotlight. Just after starting his jumping career he won every combined training competition in which he was entered. He was selected by Horse Illustrated magazine as their centerfold representation of the Haflinger in their March, 2008 issue. Though a high-powered performer and sire, Avanti is a lovable teddy bear at heart. |
